Tangerang Regent, Moch. Maesyal Rasyid, led a Disaster Preparedness Roll Call in Tangerang Regency at Raden Aria Maulana Yudhanegara Field, Tangerang Regency Government Center, Thursday (September 18, 2025).

In his address, the Tangerang Regent emphasized the importance of preparedness for all parties in facing potential disasters, especially as the rainy season approaches.

He stated that disaster threats can arise from various factors, ranging from high rainfall and river flows to human activities that fail to protect the environment.

Therefore, there are four things that all relevant parties must pay attention to.

“First, strengthen cross-sector coordination between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), and other relevant agencies.

Second, ensure that evacuation equipment and procedures are ready for use, from rubber boats and emergency tents to logistics and health facilities.

Third, regularly map flood-prone areas to ensure faster, more precise, and more effective response.

Fourth, increase community participation, as disaster management cannot rely solely on the authorities but must involve all elements of society,” said Regent Maesyal Rasyid.

The Regent added that vigilance, preparedness, and cooperation are crucial to minimizing the risks and impacts caused by the unpredictability of disasters.

He also encouraged all participants to use the roll call as a momentum to strengthen their commitment to protecting and rescuing the community.

“This roll call is a reminder to all of us that our primary duty is to provide a sense of security for the community amidst the threat of disaster.

I express my appreciation to the Tangerang City Police for their initiative and excellent cooperation, as well as to all parties committed to safeguarding Tangerang Regency,” he added.

Meanwhile, Tangerang Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Andi M. Indra Waspada, who was also present, expressed his gratitude to the Tangerang Regent and the Regency Government officials for facilitating this preparedness roll call.

“This roll call serves as a means to review the readiness of our officers in facing potential disasters. This activity is not only carried out at the regency level.

It will also be followed up with capacity building down to the volunteer level.

Volunteers and officers must understand standard operating procedures so that disaster management can be carried out quickly and appropriately,” explained Police Chief Indra Waspada.

He added that collaboration between the local government, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and the community is crucial for Tangerang Regency to remain resilient and prepared for all possible disasters.
