Day 3 of SAR Operation: Joint Team Finds Life Jacket in Sunda Strait Waters.

The Joint SAR Team resumed operations for the third day to search for eight individuals who went missing after.
The speedboat they were traveling in lost contact in the waters of the Sunda Strait, Pandeglang Regency, Banten. For the third day of the search.
The Joint SAR Team divided the operational area into six sectors, covering a total area of approximately 2,483 square nautical miles.
The search involved various assets and personnel, including KN SAR Tetuka 247, KN SAR Basudewa, KRI Leuser, KRI Lepu, KRI Karambit, KP Sanjaya, KAL Anyer, KAL Pahawang.
RIB 02 Banten, KM Aruphadatu, and Helicopter HR 3604, alongside personnel from the TNI (Military), Polri (Police).
BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency), SAR support groups, local fishermen, and the community.
Intensive searches were conducted in areas surrounding Anak Krakatau Volcano, extending to the waters southeast, north, southwest, and northwest of the volcano.
During the search in Sector F, KAL Anyer discovered a life jacket at 15:32 WIB. The item was found at coordinates 06°04’30.00″ South Latitude.
Additionally, the operation report noted the discovery of a lifebuoy at coordinates 06°17’26.40″ South Latitude, 105°22’42.00″ East Longitude.
Both items are currently undergoing verification to determine if they are linked to the eight missing individuals.
The Head of the Banten Search and Rescue Office, Al Amrad, S.Sos., stated that every discovery in the field would be followed up on as part of the search effort.
“The discovery of this life jacket and lifebuoy is a matter of interest to us. However, we are still verifying whether these items are related to the survivors we are searching for.”
“We will thoroughly follow up on all information and findings from the field,” said Al Amrad. Meanwhile, sweeps of Sectors A, B, C, D, and E have yielded no results so far.
The joint search and rescue (SAR) team continues to maximize all available resources and assets, including aerial support from the HR 3604 helicopter.
Weather conditions in the operational area are reported as partly cloudy to overcast, with winds blowing from south to north at approximately 15 knots and wave heights ranging from 2.5 to 4 meters.
“We are continuing the search while taking into account the evolving situation and weather conditions on the ground.
The safety of all personnel remains a priority. We hope these findings will provide a breakthrough and lead to the swift recovery of all victims,” Al Amrad concluded.
As of the end of Day 3 of the SAR operation, eight individuals remain missing.
The joint SAR team will continue to evaluate all search results to determine the strategy for the next phase of operations.
