The Teluknaga, Kosampi, and Pakuhaji sub-districts in Tangerang Regency, Banten, were also affected.

The siren at Gate 10 of the Tangerang City Dam, Banten, began sounding around 8:01 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB), signaling that the water level would continue to rise until 11:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB) this afternoon, Friday (January 23rd).
This morning, Gate 10 of the Dutch Dam was crowded, fearing it would burst.
Residents living along the banks of the Sadane River were worried that their homes would be hit by the overflowing Sadane River.
Local residents panicked, and the impact of the dam gates being released meant that six sub-districts would be flooded.
The Neglasari, Benda, and Priuk sub-districts were flooded in Tangerang City.
The Teluknaga, Kosampi, and Pakuhaji sub-districts in Tangerang Regency, Banten, were also affected.
“We were worried that Tangerang City’s villages would be flooded extensively, submerging three sub-districts in Tangerang City,” said Jono Indro, the floodgate guard.
According to Jono, he was forced to release and raise the floodgate, limiting the flow.
This prevented Floodgate 10 from expanding into residential areas.
It’s now temporarily safe, as the weather has been hot.
“If floodgate 10 is so intense, it’s a sign we need to be on alert,” said Gagah Andko, a resident.
Gajah added, “Hopefully, what we don’t want to happen will be resolved. We need to be on alert because the Sadane River is already above capacity.”
