The lawyer for the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), Yakup Hasibuan, and his team arrived at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) to confirm their defense of Jokowi’s fake diploma case on Thursday (July 10).
The public continues to push for the 7th president’s use of a fake diploma, which has not yet been revealed, because justice has not yet been served by Roy Suryo and his colleagues.
“We are waiting for the accurate results of the investigation from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police,” Roy Suryo said on social media.
According to information, he attended a special case hearing related to the alleged fake diploma on Wednesday (July 9, 2025).
Yakup stated that from the beginning, his team objected to the special case hearing during the investigation stage.
“From the beginning, we have actually expressed our objections to this process, because the special case hearing was held during the investigation,” Yakup said.
Because Yakup is defending his client, he is also lying, as he was not informed that a special hearing would be held.
He had previously criticized the National Police Headquarters investigators for not having a lawyer present during the questioning.
“We believe the investigation was unregulated and has no legal basis,” Yakup said at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) building in Jakarta on Wednesday.
However, they chose to attend the police’s invitation.
“We continue to urge the legal authorities to ensure the National Police Headquarters investigators are honest in presenting their findings,” said Resmon.
According to Resmon, he urged the investigators to ensure transparency in this case.
