A motorcycle theft was apprehended by the Karawaci Police through CCTV footage. The swift work of the Karawaci Police Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tangerang Metropolitan Police has uncovered a suspected aggravated theft of a two-wheeled motor vehicle (R2).

As stipulated in Article 363 of the Criminal Code, officers secured two suspects along with several pieces of evidence, including a sharp weapon.

The case was led by the Head of the Karawaci Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Riono, S.H., M.H., along with the Head of the Operations Unit, First Inspector Abdul Kholid, and the Operations Team.

Karawaci Police Chief, Commissioner Hadi Wiyono, S.IP., explained that the theft occurred on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at approximately 1:30 a.m. Western Indonesian Time, in front of a lathe workshop on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Cimone Village, Karawaci District, Tangerang City.

The victim was identified as Agung Dwi Syahputra, a private employee, who lost his Honda Beat motorcycle.

“Based on the victim’s report, our team immediately conducted an investigation by inspecting the crime scene, questioning witnesses, and reviewing CCTV footage, ultimately leading to the perpetrator’s whereabouts,” said the Karawaci Police Chief.

From the investigation, officers located the perpetrator at a lodging in West Jakarta.

During a raid on room 201, officers arrested two suspects: April, who acted as a picker, and Dodo, who acted as a jockey.

During the search, police recovered several pieces of evidence, including a T-shaped wrench, a T-shaped wrench, two machetes, two motorcycles, and the original vehicle registration certificates (STNK).

The police chief added that the interrogation revealed that the two suspects had repeatedly committed motor vehicle thefts.

“The perpetrators admitted to committing eight thefts in West Jakarta and Tangerang. One of the suspects is also a repeat offender in motorcycle theft cases,” he emphasized.

It was further revealed that the stolen motorcycles were planned to be shipped to Lampung via a courier service and sold to a receiver identified as D (a fugitive).
