Tangerang Regent Moch. Maesyal Rasyid visited residents of RW 11 Villa Tangerang Elok, Kuta Jaya Village, Pasar Kemis District, to hear directly from the community regarding the flooding that frequently affects the area on Friday (11/14/25).

Regent Maesyal Rasyid, accompanied by council members, Head of the Public Works and Water Resources Agency Iwan Firmansyah, Head of the Housing and Settlements Agency Bambang Sapto.

Head of the Pasar Kemis District, and the Head of the Kuta Jaya Village, stated that his presence demonstrates the regional government’s responsibility to ensure that services and community issues are properly addressed.

“I’m here because this is a shared responsibility. There are no discrimination; all residents of Tangerang Regency have the same right to receive services and attention.

The government and the community must work together to develop this region,” said Regent Maesyal Rasyid.

He also expressed his appreciation for the regional apparatus who had conducted an initial survey at the location, including checking the culverts, which are suspected to be one of the main causes of the inundation and flooding.

“The Head of the Public Works Agency has personally inspected the condition of the culverts to determine the root cause of the problem.

This demonstrates our commitment to resolving the problem quickly and appropriately,” he said.

He added that one of the obstacles encountered in the field is the presence of buildings located above water channels.

Therefore, he, along with the relevant technical team, the sub-district, and village offices, are communicating directly with the building owners so that the handling process can be carried out immediately.

“We must resolve this quickly, If all parties have good intentions for the public interest, God willing, it will be made easier.

We want flooding to be reduced, and if possible, completely eliminated. This is for the benefit of the residents here,” he emphasized.

The Regent also asked all regional elements, from sub-districts, urban villages, neighborhood associations (RW).

Neighborhood associations (RT), and the community, to work together to support the drainage management and repair efforts.

After providing instructions, the Regent immediately went to the problem areas to inspect the condition of the drainage channels and determine what immediate remedial measures needed.

The head of neighborhood association (RW) 11 of Villa Tangerang Elok, Dadang Jatmika, expressed his appreciation for the Tangerang Regent’s presence in his area and for directly hearing the residents’ concerns.

“Thank God, residents were able to directly convey the current conditions, especially during heavy rains, which often cause flooding.

Therefore, we are proposing drainage normalization so this problem can be addressed,” he said.

He explained that the Villa Tangerang Elok area consists of seven neighborhood associations (RW) with a total of 54 neighborhood associations (RT), and RW 11 is one of the smallest areas affected.

“Our strong hope is that this drainage management program will be implemented soon so that the Elok area can once again become a comfortable environment for residents,” he said.
