Hesty Helena Sitorus urged the Medan Police, North Sumatra Police to detain the suspect Tusiyah, the party who took over her brother’s land because he had been named a suspect since December 14 2024.
“I have reported Tusiyah to the police but so far he has not been arrested even though he faces a sentence of more than five years,” said Hesty Helena Sitorus when contacted from Jakarta, Monday.
Hesty Sitorus said that his party regretted why the handling of the suspect, who was an ASN within the scope of the North Sumatra Regional Police, had not been followed up by the Medan Regional Police, this was considered unfair.
The problem is related to Tusiyah allegedly taking over the land, so a house was finally built, then occupied on Jalan Monginsidi III No. 28, Anggrung Village, Medan Polonia District, Medan City, North Sumatra.
Tusiyah’s efforts to build the house, said Hesty, used fake documents, so in the end the victim reported it to the authorities for legal action.
According to Hesty, his party was suspicious considering that the threat of a sentence of more than five years usually requires the suspect to be detained.
This of course raises suspicions that there are privileges against the perpetrator, even though everyone in legal cases has the same rights without exception.
Hesty Sitorus has even reported the case of land grabbing by Tusiyah to the Propam Division of the National Police Headquarters to be followed up in order to obtain justice.
Meanwhile, Medan Police Chief Gidion Arif Setiawan via WhatsApp message said that no arrests had been made in this case.
Meanwhile, the reason that detention has not been carried out is allegedly that there is special treatment for the suspect even though the threat of a sentence of more than five years is in accordance with article 21 paragraph 4, letter a of the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).
