Lawyer OC Kaligis denied that his client AKBP Bintoro, former Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of South Jakarta Metro Police, Polda Metro Jaya, never received a single cent, related to allegations of bribery of tens of billions from other parties.
“Bintoro does not know the two suspects named Arif Nugroho alias Sebastian and Muhammad Bayu Hartono at all,” said OC Kaligis accompanied by his assistant Fridayassra Ingelisafira in Jakarta, Friday.
He said that his party defended the case against AKBP Bintoro prodeo with seven other lawyers at the Otto Cornelis Kaligis & Associates Advocates & Legal Consultants office in the Majapahit Permai Complex, Central Jakarta.
However, his party confirmed that there was a civil lawsuit from the two suspects at the South Jakarta District Court with case registration number No. 30/Pdt.G/2025/PN.Jkt.Sel and the trial on February 5, 2025.
According to him, as Bintoro’s attorney, he has prepared evidence to oppose the civil lawsuit, the essence of which is that his client never received money from the two suspects.
He added that the statement was in response to the media’s widespread news about Bintoro receiving money and it was considered untrue and fabricated.
Bintoro has even agreed to have his house searched by officers and his and his family’s bank accounts opened to see if there is money reaching tens of billions.
Meanwhile, the Head of Propam Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Radjo Alriadi Harahap said that AKBP Bintoro was related to abusing his authority, for that his party was still conducting further investigation for the examination.
This began with the alleged murder and violence against two minors investigated by Bintoro as Head of Criminal Investigation Unit by ensnaring two suspects, namely AN and MBH, which occurred at a hotel in South Jakarta, the victim eventually died.
However, recently there has been a viral narrative on social media that Bintoro is extorting money.
