.”Kick Off National Press Day (HPN) 2026 was officially held and centered in Banten Province.
This event was attended by the management of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) from various regions in Indonesia as a momentum to strengthen the synergy between press people and regional governments, Sunday (11/30).
Chairman of the HPN 2026 Committee, Zulmansyah Sekedang, confirmed that the HPN commemoration summit on February 9, 2026 will be attended directly by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto.
“President Prabowo is sure to attend the HPN summit later. This year’s kick off is also the most festive in the history of HPN for 40 years,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Central PWI, Akhmad Munir, said that the holding of HPN 2026 in Banten Province is expected to have an economic impact from various sectors, especially tourism, creative economy, and local industry.
“With the implementation of HPN in Banten, we hope that this can increase economic turnover in various leading sectors, including tourism and others,” said Munir.
He also thanked the Chief of Police for the continued support and synergy with the press, especially PWI.
“Hopefully this synergy will strengthen the good relationship between the Police and the press, as well as present a more humanistic Police,” he added.
The Chief of Police confirmed that Kick Off HPN 2026 is not just a routine activity, but an important agenda that is a symbol of the strategic partnership between the Police and the press.
“This is not an ordinary activity, this is a special activity.
The police and the press must work together to protect the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.
The Chief of Police also ordered the press to continue to present information according to the facts, especially in the midst of the rapid development of citizen journalism.
“Currently, people can publish information through social media, but not necessarily everything is true.
This is where the role of the professional press is very important to maintain public trust.
We are committed to maintaining the dignity of the press in carrying out journalistic duties,” he said.
Carrying the theme of “Healthy Press, Sovereign Economy, Strong Nation”, the Police Chief hopes that HPN 2026 can further encourage press personnel to work professionally, with dignity, and make a real contribution to the development of the nation.
Kick Off HPN 2026 in Banten is the beginning of a series of national activities that are expected to further strengthen the position of the press as a pillar of democracy and a strategic partner of the government.
In the same place, the head of Protocol and Communication Department of Tangerang City Leader Mualim who together with the PWI manager of Tangerang City who were present in the middle of the event expected this Kick OFF to become a marwan of Press in Indonesia
“Today, we from the head of the Protocol and Communication Department of the City of Tangerang were able to attend and witness the Kick Off event attended by the Chief of Police,
Governor Andra Soni, I hope that the Kick OFF event will lead to the progress of press people and press friends in the city of Tangerang,” explained Mualim, Sunday (11/30/25).
Mualim also hopes that the administrators of Tangerang City PWI can be closer back in cooperation, synergy for the development of the city of Tangerang in particular.
