The activity took place on Jalan Veteran, Babakan, Tangerang City, and was attended by senior police officials and school officials, including Kasihums (Public Relations Officer) Adjunct Commissioner Prapto Lasono, Head of Propam (Propam) Division.
Police Commissioner Toto, Deputy Chief of Samapta (Student Relations Officer) Adjunct Commissioner Edward, and representatives of student affairs teachers, Mr. Kuswara.
In front of hundreds of students, the Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Jauhari expressed his concern over the increasing trend of juvenile delinquency.
“The brawls, drug abuse, and even gang wars that frequently occur in Tangerang City are dominated by teenagers.
This must be stopped. We are going directly to schools to ensure that our students do not become perpetrators or victims,” he stressed.
The Police Chief also emphasized the importance of disciplined study as a foundation for their future.
“I am pleased to meet you, students.
Your duty is to study well. Have strong determination and don’t be easily influenced by negative influences,” he said.
The Police Chief also asked schools, along with the Community Police Officers (Bhabinkamtibmas), to actively monitor the situation.
“Please conduct urine tests if necessary.
Schools must not become places for drug or alcohol distribution; we must all work together to protect them,” he said.
“At the Tangerang City Metro Police, we are very serious about eradicating drugs. We have already dismissed several officers involved in drug use,” he explained.
He also gave the students a moral message: “You must have determination—if others can succeed, so can you.
The best people are those who are useful to others. Never go against your parents and teachers.”
During the dialogue session, students from SMK Yuppentek 1 asked several questions about drugs, the behavior of police officers, the handling of reports, and why the National Police are considered slow in handling cases.
The Police Chief answered frankly and openly. He emphasized that the investigation process is now much more transparent. “We are obliged to receive every report.
The public can check the progress of the case through the National Police website. We also send SP2HPs, either by mail or directly by investigators,” he said.
The Police Chief also dismissed the notion that reports could be covered up.
“Subs or complaints cannot be hidden. The National Police are obliged to provide information to the public.
If there is an emergency or criminal incident, please call 110 immediately, and we will definitely respond,” he emphasized.
This type of school-based mitigation is part of the Tangerang City Metropolitan Police’s program to reduce juvenile delinquency.
Through a dialogue-based approach, the police hope to help students better understand the dangers of brawls, drugs, and negative social interactions.
