Regent Signs MoU with Prasetiya Mulya University in 3 Priority Sectors.

TANGERANG, INTERNASIONALPOS.COM.

The Tangerang Regency Government has established cooperation in the health, education, and economic sectors with Prasetiya Mulya University.

The collaboration was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Tangerang Regent Moch Maesyal Rasyid and Prasetiya Mulya University at the Prasetiya Mulya University Campus in BSD, Pagedangan, on Tuesday (July 22, 2025).

On this occasion, Regent Maesyal Rasyid emphasized that the collaboration between the Tangerang Regency Government and Prasetiya Mulya University is part of the regional development strategy, particularly in three priority sectors: health, education, and the economy.

This step is an effort to strengthen synergy between the regional government and higher education institutions through the Tri Dharma.

“We are focusing on three main areas: health, education, and the economy. We allocate almost a third of the regional budget (APBD) to the health sector.

We will make education free starting in 2025 for elementary and junior high schools. Meanwhile, in the economic sector, we are encouraging the growth of MSMEs and job training through the Vocational Training Center (BLK),” said Regent Maesyal.

Furthermore, Regent Maesyal, who was also present to deliver a public lecture, expressed his pride and enthusiasm to be present among students at one of the nation’s leading universities in Tangerang Regency.

“As soon as I arrived here, I was incredibly impressed. The students come from all over Indonesia, from Sumatra to Kalimantan.

I am proud that this university has become a center for developing superior human resources, particularly in the fields of economics, business, and law, which are highly relevant to national development,” he said.

In his public lecture, the Regent also encouraged Prasetiya Mulya University to continue optimizing the role of students, particularly in Community Service Programs (KKN) and Field Work Practices (PKL) in Tangerang Regency.

He hopes that the presence of students in the community can be pioneering agents of change, especially in voicing important issues such as environmental health, the importance of education, and strengthening the local economy.

“I ask the campus leadership to direct student internship (PKL) or community service (KKN) activities to our area.

This way, students can interact directly with the community and help promote healthy lifestyles, a passion for education, and community economic empowerment,” he requested.

He added that Prasetiya Mulya University can provide wider access to educational scholarship programs for high-achieving students from Tangerang Regency who are economically disadvantaged.

“Every year, we provide scholarships for high-achieving students.

We hope Prasetiya Mulya University will also provide this access so that more children from Tangerang Regency can achieve their dreams through higher education,” he concluded.

The MoU signing was also attended by Prof. Dr. Hismat Simanjuntak, Chairman of the Prasetiya Mulya University Foundation, Vice Rectors, deans, lecturers, and other members of Prasetiya Mulya University’s structural staff.
