BASARNAS Personnel and Joint SAR Team Recover Drowning Victim from Lake Tungki.

Grief has befallen the family of a child identified as RA (9), who had previously been reported drowned in Lake Tungki, Jatake Village, Pagedangan District, Tangerang Regency.

The incident occurred on Friday (October 2, 2026) at approximately 13:08 WIB while the victim was near the lake with friends.

The victim is believed to have slipped and subsequently drowned.

The lake is a former excavation site with depths reportedly ranging from 5 to 15 meters. Upon receiving the report, rescue personnel from the Jakarta Search and Rescue (SAR) Office.

Alongside joint SAR elements, immediately launched a search operation spanning from Friday (October 2) through Saturday afternoon (October 3).

They employed various methods and equipment, ranging from visual sweeps and the use of “Aqua Eye” technology to grappling/dragging operations and diving at the scene.

The victim was ultimately recovered deceased on Saturday (October 3) at approximately 14:15 WIB, found within a 2-meter radius of the incident site.

The body was then transported to the funeral home to be handed over to the family.

This operation involved a collaborative effort between the Jakarta SAR Office, Tangerang Regency Fire Department, Tangerang Regency BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency), Pagedangan Sector Police, SAR MTA.

Pagedangan Babinsa (Village Supervisory Non-Commissioned Officer), and local community members.

Desiana Kartika Bahari, Head of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office, stated:

“The joint SAR team conducted a search for the victim by deploying various methods and equipment suited to the conditions on the ground.

The search involved visual sweeps, the use of Aqua Eye technology, grappling operations around the site, and diving, all while taking into account the lake’s conditions and depth.”
