Deputy Regent Intan Nurul Hikmah, along with the Head of the Tangerang Regency Ministry Office, inaugurated the National Nutrition Agency kitchen in Tangerang Regency, Banten.

This was for the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program at the Al Badar 1 Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) in Balaraja, Sunday (September 14, 2025).

In her remarks, Deputy Regent Intan expressed her gratitude and thanks to the Al Badar Foundation for their consistent and concrete support of the MBG program.

Especially in accelerating the reduction of stunting in Tangerang Regency.

“Alhamdulillah, today, the Al Badar Islamic Boarding School will also inaugurate the second MBG kitchen. This MBG kitchen is in line with the vision and mission of the Tangerang Regency Government, which has strong intentions.

To reduce stunting rates and cases of malnutrition in Tangerang Regency,” said Deputy Regent Intan.

She continued, the Tangerang Regency Government, along with other parties, continues to strengthen its commitment and collaboration in preventing and addressing stunting.

One of the measures taken is direct intervention with pregnant women.

They provide nutritious food so that their children will have a normal birth and avoid stunting.

“Together with many other parties across sectors, we continue to strengthen our commitment and work together.

So, from pregnant women to elementary, middle, and high school students, we are given special vitamins. Girls are given iron-boosting vitamins.

This ensures that when they marry, they will be healthy,” he explained.

He also asked the Balaraja District Nutrition Service Unit (SPPG) to pay close attention to health aspects.

“The nutritional composition and taste of the food must be truly appropriate and not boring for the recipient.

The kitchen must be clean, hygienic, and the food must be delicious and nutritious.

Everything must be carefully managed, including the carbohydrate, protein, and other nutritional content.

He hopes the kitchen for the MBG program at Al Badar Islamic Boarding School

can run well and provide benefits and positive contributions not only to reducing stunting rates and eliminating malnutrition in Tangerang Regency, but also to supporting food security in Tangerang Regency and the surrounding community.

“We all hope that this kitchen will not only reduce and eliminate stunting,

but also strengthen food security, and the surrounding community will also feel the direct benefits in terms of fulfilling and filling employment opportunities.”

Currently, he also revealed that the MBG kitchen at Al Badar 1 Islamic Boarding School, Balaraja, has been able to create jobs, employing 47 local residents.

“So, imagine if many SPPG kitchens were opened to cook for schoolchildren throughout Tangerang Regency, many jobs would also be created.

So, the effect is mutually beneficial,” he concluded.
